In her very first film itself, Mona has been cast opposite Ramesh Aravind. The actress is all smiles as this project, titled Nam Anna Don, has been a dream come true for her.

Very quiet yet raring to make her big screen debut as a female lead, Mona has a familiar spark that one often sees in newcomers. But this is not her first stint in front of the camera. “I have done small roles in a couple of movies before this but technically, this is my first film as a heroine,” Mona tells Metrolife.

Playing the role of a college student, Mona describes her character as a fun-loving and cheerful girl. “Being just out of college, I could easily get into the skin of the character and even relate to it. Moreover, Ramesh (Aravind) sir was always there helping me out at every step,” she says.

Apart from being her co-star, Ramesh Aravind was also the director of the movie. And Mona says that she was amazed at the way he worked on the sets. “He was so calm and peaceful all the time. It was nice to see him play both the roles with such ease,” says Mona.

Having been brought up in Iran, Mona says she misses her life back there. But then again, she is quick to add that this is where she wanted to be. “Ever since I was a kid, I have wanted to be an actress. I remember acting out scenes in front of the mirror and hoping to do the same in front of a camera someday,” she recollects. But what made her choose the Kannada film industry as her debut platform? “It was a natural choice for me.

My mother tongue is Kannada and I wanted to return to my roots. And now that I have
completed the shoot for my first film, I am waiting to see how the audience will accept me,” she says. Though Mona is yet to sign a new project, she says that she is not going to be choosy at all. “This is the first step in my career and I have a long way to go
before I get choosy,” she signs off.
