Senior Congress leaders S M Krishna and M Veerappa Moily today voiced their support to KPCC President G Parameshwara amid speculation in some quarters about leadership change.

Parameshwara is doing a good job and "we are with him", External Affairs Minister Krishna, a former KPCC President, told reporters in response to questions at taluk headquarters town of Sira in Tumkur district.

Reports in a section of the press claimed that the Congress High Command was weighing the option of replacing Parameshwara, with names of Krishna, M Mallikarjuna Kharge and H K Patil doing the rounds for the post.

Krishna, a former Chief Minister, wondered how his name cropped up, adding, he had not said anywhere (that he is a contender). But he added: "Our support is for KPCC President appointed by party high command".

Union Corporate Affairs Minister Moily, a former Chief Minister, also said Parameshwara was doing a good job. "He (Parameshwara) is an honest man. He has the strength and the will to build the party. We have to strengthen his hands. There is no indication at all from the high command on changing him", he told reporters at the district headquarters town of Chikkaballapura.
