The Karnataka Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation Limited (KMF) on Monday launched Nandini GoodLife toned milk in 100 ml tetra pak packets at a price of Rs 4.

The new product will be made available to consumers in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala.

Supported by Tetra Pak, the world’s leading food processing and packaging solutions provider, KMF officials said they are certain that the 100 ml Tetra Fino Aseptic (TFA) packets will cater to the increased demand for safe and hygienic milk. The 100 ml TFA packets allow KMF to increase affordability by pricing the product at Rs 4, thereby reaching a much wider consumer base. “The new format will help us reach even the most remote areas of the southern states. Our 12-year-long association with Tetra Pak has enabled us to provide our consumers safe and good quality milk,” said KMF Chairman G Somasekhara Reddy.

“Packaging the toned milk in TFA packets allows KMF to increase the reach of the product with its lower pricing,” said Kandarp Singh, South Asia Markets Managing Director of Tetra Pak. Milk in tetra pak packets is Ultra-High Temperature (UHT) treated. In this process, milk is heated at very high temperatures for just a few seconds to remove all micro organisms.
Milk so treated has no preservatives and does not need to be boiled, making it ready for consumption straight out of the packet.
