'Bring out book on dist history in every dist sahitya sammelan'

Speaking after inaugurating Chikmagalur district 8th Kannada Sahithya Sammelan at Tarikere on Friday, he said for the publishing books, district sahithya parishath must earmark Rs one lakh. The Kannada Sahithya Parishat has earmarked Rs 1.45 crore for organising 29 district literary meets, Rs 1.75 crore for taluk level meets, Rs one crore for literary research and Rs one crore for bringing out a dictionary.

He said after taking charge as the president, he has organised 4 divisional meets and 250 literary conventions.

Literary meets should be observed as nada habba. Along with showing respect towards other languages, Kannadigas should love Kannada, said Kannada Shakthi Kendra President Dr J P Krishnegowda.

Litterateurs should keep aside their differences of opinion and must work towards the development of Kannada, said MLA D S Suresh.

MP D V Sadananda Gowda said “State government has respect towards Kannada language. Government is working towards implementing Kannada in administration.”

He said 18 MPs elected from the State have taken oath in Parliament in Kannada. By unveiling the statue of Sarvajna and Thiruvalluvar, the government is committed towards maintaining good relationship with the neighbouring states.  DC R Narayanaswamy, District Kannada Sahithya Parishath President H Chandrappa, and others were present.
