<p>Dr Boralingaiah M B, an IPS officer of 2008 batch, assumed charge as the new Superintendent of Police here on Friday.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Dr Boralingaiah who served as the Tiptur sub division ASP of Tumkur district was posted to Udupi as Superintendent of Police. Prior to his service in Tiptur, Boralingaiah had undergone training in Gulburga district. <br /><br />He belonged to Mallanayakanahalli of Maddur village of Mandya district. The 33-year-old was inclined towards civil service profession despite having MBBS degree into his credit.<br /><br />He passed out from Mysore Medical College in 2004. Speaking to the media persons, Boralingaiah said the present challenges before him is forthcoming Udupi-Chikmagalur Lok Sabha poll besides the issues concerned with communal sensitivity of the area and naxal problems. He said that no one is authorised to take law into the hands when it comes to moral issues. There are specific agencies to look into it, he added.<br /><br />He also said his foremost task would be to get familiarised with the district, area and people. Stating that out of three attempts he took to clear his IPS, the second one was most challenging, Boralingaiah said, “In the second attempt, I made it to the interviews and I was not chosen. However, I was successful in my third attempt,” he said and added that zoology and geography were his optional subjects in the exam.<br /></p>
