Haddin, Marsh out of ODIs

Australian selectors on Monday dropped wicketkeeper Brad Haddin from the 14-man one-day squad for the Commonwealth Bank series.

The squad is for the first three one-dayers, and Matthew Wade, 24-year old wicketkeeper from Victoria, has replaced Haddin. Out of form Shaun Marsh too was axed, and Peter Forrest, middle-order batsman from Queensland, has been called up in place of him.

Commenting on the team, Australia’s chairman of selectors John Inverarity said, “Peter Forrest, Mitchell Marsh, Matthew Wade, Dan Christian and Clint McKay are in form and will have a chance to either prove or further prove themselves on the international stage.

The squad: Michael Clarke (cap), Daniel Christian, Xavier Doherty, Peter Forrest, Ryan Harris, David Hussey, Mike Hussey, Brett Lee, Mitchell Marsh, Clint McKay, Ricky Ponting, David Warner, Mitchell Starc, Matthew Wade.
