3 juvenile undertrials attempt suicide, one battling for life

All are admitted to Victoria Hospital

A juvenile undertrial lodged in the Government Remand Home for Boys and Girls at Madivala is battling for life after he and two inmates, attempted suicide by consuming rodenticide on Tuesday.

Police said Bharath, Vinay and Vishwas consumed poison at the Remand Home around 5.30 pm.
They were immediately rushed to the Victoria Hospital. The condition of Bharath is said to be serious while Vinay and Vishwas are out of danger, police added.

The reason for the suicide attempt is not known.

Bharath was arrested on the charge of attempt to murder and robbery reported in Shankarpuram, Koramangala, Basavanagudi and Chamarajapet police station limits. Vinay has been accused of murder and robbery reported in Shankarpuram and KG Nagar police station limits. Vishwas was held for an attempt to murder.

Police said a case will be registered later.

Newlywed ends life

A married woman hanged herself at her residence in Geleyara Balaga near Mahalakshmi Layout on Tuesday.

Hemalatha, 23, was married to Ramakrishna, a second division assistant in the High Court three years ago, and the couple had a daughter.

The police have taken up a dowry case and are investigating.

Hemalatha’s relatives alleged that at the time of marriage they had given cash and  a bike to the bridegroom. After the birth of the child, Ramakrishna began demanding more dowry –– Rs five lakh in his daughter’s name and a site. Unable to bear the torture, Hemalatha took the extreme step, they said.

Jilted lover hangs self

A 30-year-old man’s body was found hanging at his friend’s room in a PG accommodation in Malleswaram on Tuesday.

Vinod Kumar from Vinayakapura of Chikmagalur district, was working as a cashier at a private firm in the City.

Police said Vinod was a close friend to a girl residing in the PG and he managed to sneak into it and took the extreme step. No death note has been found. The cops are waiting for the postmortem reports.
