A doctorate at 21 years!

What sets him apart is his age - Thathagat is only 21-years-old. And this is not his first achievement - Thathagat, who is from Patna, Bihar, was a child prodigy and completed his schooling at the age of 9. He then went on to do his BSc in Physics and MSc in Physics by 12 and was acknowledged by the Guinness Book of World Records.

Speaking about his research, he said, “My thesis is on Generalisation of the Quantum Search Algorithm, which indicates at developing algorithms or software for quantum computers. These computers will be very powerful and faster than the current models.” He also claimed that his 33-page thesis is the shortest PhD thesis in the country.
