Officials urged to implement rural job scheme effectively

Rs 25 lakh earmarked for drinking water scheme in Koodige village

 
Speaking at the first round gram sabha programme for the year 2009-10 at Koodige near here on Friday, Rajarao said that the gram panchayats should respond to the demands of the local people in time. Zilla Panchayat has given more emphasis for the development of Koodige village, he said adding that Rs 25 lakh has been reserved for the implementation of drinking water scheme in Huduguru, Jenukallubetta, Mavinahalla and surrounding areas.

Additional classrooms

Additional classrooms have been built in all schools in Koodige under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyana scheme, he said adding that 13 new Anganwadi centres were opened in the region.

Homeless villagers in the gram panchayat will be given site at Kalidevarahosur. Power connections will be provided to families under the Rajiv Gandhi Electrification Scheme, Rajarao assured. Farmers should make use of the benefits under the Vidarbha Package properly, he added.

Presiding over the programme gram panchayat president T P Hameed said that people should co-operate for the development of the region.

Villager Ganesh demanded that the Yadavanadu Road, which is in a deplorable condition, should be developed immediately.

Deputy tahsildar P S Mahesh, Nodel Officer Dr Subramanya Prasad and others were present.
