MTS offers unlimited calls within network under new tariffs

Unperturbed by the recent Supreme Court ruling quashing 122 telecom licences, Sistema Shyam TeleServices, which operates under the brand MTS, today launched new tariff plan allowing subscribers to make unlimited local and national calls within the network.

"This is a first of its kind initiative for both for its new and existing prepaid voice customers across India. MTS customers will now be able to make unlimited MTS to MTS local and national calls at a rate as low as zero paisa," SSTL said in a statement.

SSTL is a joint venture in which Russia-based Sistema holds majority stake and rest is with Russian Government and India-based Shyam Group.

The new tariff plan comes in three denominations ranging from Rs 17 to Rs 147 with different benefits.

"We at MTS believe that mobile communication is an enabler...We have specially designed MTS Super Zero to empower our customers with the freedom to talk more and stay connected with their friends and business associates.

"I am confident that both our new and existing customers will find our Super Zero initiative extremely exciting as it enables them to make calls at as low as Zero Paisa," MTS India Chief Marketing & Sales Officer Leonid Musatov said.

The move comes just a week after the Supreme Court cancelled 122 2G licences terming them "illegal", due to which SSTL lost all its 22 telecom cirles.

Additionally, customers availing super zero can also enjoy free local and national SMSs. Super zero comes with the choice of daily, weekly and monthly offerings.

The launch of MTS 'Super Zero' is supported by a communication campaign involving above the line and below the line initiatives. The campaign would run for over a month, the company said.
