A farm with a difference

What is unique about this farm is that the zero cultivation method is followed here. There are no extra farm hands, nor is there any dependence on chemical fertilisers.
On this five-acre farm are grown areca, coconut, cardamom, plantain, bamboo etc. There are as many as 120 coconut trees on this farm. The manure comes from cow dung, and other organic wastes. The farm, which has been in existence since 1996, is not a ‘developed’ one, in terms of levelled land, or fencing.

It is not a typical farm in that sense. The saplings are planted by Pandit and his son Deepak, both of whom have dedicated themselves to the farm.
And success has come to them in a big way. They have earned as much as Rs 40,000 from only the sale of tender coconuts, annually.
