Six-time Indian champion, Saurav Ghosal added another feather to his cap after he registered a comfortable victory over his Pakistani rival Yasir Butt 3-1 to become the new Windy City Open Squash champion.

In the final, Indian top seed and ranked 27th in the world, overhauled Pakistan’s second seed 11-8, 15-13, 10-12, 11-5.

Earlier, Ghosal signalled the end of the road for title-holder Olivier Pett when he beat the English qualifier in four games in the quarterfinals.

The Indian then spelt doom for Scotland’s fourth seed Alan Clyne 11-4, 11-5, 11-6 to enter the final of the tournament.

Yasir had come out all guns blazing in the final with a rally of precision short shots catching Ghosal off guard and taking early leads in all the games.

But Ghosal retrieved the shots, which stopped Butt from playing to his strength — the attacking game.
