Harvesting happiness

Flowers were plucked from gardens but most of them were purchased from markets. That was not all!

There were other interesting facets that the season brought to the City from Kerala. Stores were selling the traditional white and gold bordered sarees, which have become a fashion statement. Women were also seen performing the traditional kaikottikali dance around the flower carpet with a lamp lighted in the middle.

The men also took part with much enthusiasm in the percussion or the beating of the chenda.

Not to forget the young member of the family, who tried to make her own contribution to the flower arrangement.

All in an effort to please the Mahabali and celebrate the season in the best possible traditional manner.
