KMC professor gets lifetime achievement award

Kasturba Medical College Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology Dr Pratap Kumar was bestowed the prestigious national Dr Kutty Lifetime Achievement Award by the Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecological Societies of India (FOGSI) for the year 2011-12 at the National Congress at Varanasi held recently.

 The award was given in recognition for his valuable contributions to FOGSI, the organisation representing practitioners of obstetrics and gynecology in India. With 209 member societies and over 25,000 individual members spread over the length and breadth of the country, FOGSI is probably one of the largest membership-based organizations for specialized professionals.

Dr Pratap Kumar was the National Chairman of Imaging Sciences in Obstetrics and Gynecology of FOGSI between 1991 and 1995. And was the National Vice President of FOGSI in the year 1999. 

Dr Pratap has conducted several CME programs all over the country. He has contributed to several chapters in books, edited good undergraduate and postgraduate books and has over 200 publications and presented over 400 papers all over the country and in many parts of the world.
