JOIN USWhile Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had brushed aside the story of a rape, terming it as one planted by media and the police are still trying to get to the root of the matter, the alleged victim says she has been getting threatening phone calls and SMSs.
“I am getting threatening calls to withdraw the case and the same kinds of SMSs. I am really scared. I have informed the police about the whole thing and even given them the numbers, but nothing has been done so far,” the “rape victim” told Deccan Herald over the phone.
However sources in the police said that they have verified the numbers. The phone numbers are located in different districts like Hooghly, Murshidabad and Nadia. The SMSs on the other hand seem to be coming from call centres making it difficult to trace them immediately.
