JOIN USJSS Dental College garners huge win
An all-round performance by Sanjeed (36, 3x4s, 2x6s and five for 18), helped JSS Dental College register a huge 140-run win over D Bhanumiah’s College in the second round tie of the Dell-KSCA Inter-collegiate knock-out cricket tournament played at Gangothri grounds here on Saturday.
Batting first, JSS Dental College helped by some useful contributions from Gaurav Patil (57, 7x4s), Nilesh (49, 4x4s) and Sanjeed (36, 3x4s, 2x6s) posted 219 for eight in 30 overs.
Pradeep was the most successful bowler for D Bhanumiah’s College taking three for 43.
In reply, D Bhanumiah’s College were bowled out for 79 runs in 19.5 overs. Bharath Bhushan top scored with 36 runs. Off-spinner Sanjeed bowled a steady line to grab five wickets (five for 18) in his six over spell. Left-arm medium-pacer Avic took two for 17.
Ch’nagar GFGC victorious
In the other matches, Government First Grade College, Chamarajanagar, registered a 17-run win over SBRR Mahajana PU College to enter the pre-quarterfinals.
JSS College, Ooty Road, registered a six-wicket win over Vidya Vikas Institute of Engineering and Technology, while Maharaja’s College secured a three-wicket win over Global Institute of Management and Developmental Sciences (GIMDS). Leg-spinner Sharbin of GIMDS took six for 37 runs (including a hat-trick), but his efforts went in vain as his team lost to Maharaja’s College.

Match 2: Global Institute of Management and Developmental Sciences 117 in 19.5 overs ( R.Sharath 23, S Rajath two for 30, H M Naveen two for 30, M Naveen three for 25) lost to Maharaja’s College, Mysore 118/ 7 in 14.2 overs ( G Sunil 51, Vikas 34, T P Sharbin six for 37).
Match 3: GFGC, Chamarajanagar 204/ 7 in 30 overs ( Mallesh 64, Yogesh 50, Karthik 22, Abhi two for 27) beat SBRR Mahajana PU College 187 in 30 overs ( P Vishnu 68, Nitish Kumar 27, Arun 28, Nandakumar three for 24, Yeshwanth two for 27, Nagendra two for 37).
Match 4: Vidya Vikas IE 167/ 8 in 30 overs ( Prasanth 49, Chandan 24, Deepak three for 32) lost to JSS Ooty Road 171/ 4 in 16.1 overs ( Bhanu Prakash 66 not out, Manjesh 52).
