This has taken the total death toll to 28 in the State. The man was admitted on August 28 after suffering from fever for eight days. He was then immediately put on ventilator. However, he succumbed to pneumonia and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).

Meanwhile, the number of H1N1 positive cases are on the rise again. Twenty-two people were detected positive for the infection in the State on Tuesday. The total number of positive cases stands at 485. While Bangalore confirmed 14 cases, Belgaum reported six and two cases came positive in Mysore.

The updates given by the Health department will now omit the patient and the Hospital's name.  A Health department official said, "Some hospitals as well as people raised objections to this. So we decided not to mention the patient's and the private hospital's name.”

UDD instructions

The department of Urban Development has given instructions to local bodies to take necessary measures to counter spread of diseases - dengue, chikungunya and H1N1. The instruction has been issued to executive officers and chief officers of local bodies.

The officers would purchase fogging machines, if required. Supply of chlorinated drinking water had been made
