Road to Gubbalala needs repair

The main road connecting Kanakapura Road to Gubbalala village was dug up by BWSSB for laying pipes almost six months ago. Since then neither BBMP nor BWSSB has bothered to repair this section. There is accumulation of garbage along the main road and also along the arterial road towards Mantri Tranquil. This is a fast developing area and it is high time BBMP makes arrangements for effectively clearing garbage. Shops are coming up haphazardly on either side of the road. We request BBMP to allow only licenced businesses to operate.

N H Nagabhushana,
Mantri Tranquil, Gubbalala

Replace transformer, please

The residents of ward no 69, Vidhana Soudha Layout 1st Cross to 4th Cross, face power fluctuations almost the whole day on a daily basis. The transformer opposite Mahalakshmi School of Nursing was installed in 2002. More houses were added to the layout ever since. Therefore, the Bescom authorities should replace the transformer with one having a higher capacity, so as to stabilise the power supply.

S Kumar,
Vidhana Soudha Layout.

Provide door delivery of LPG cylinders

Rashmi Indane Distributor of IOC (Nayandahalli) supplies refilled LPG cylinders through truck/lorry once a week every Wednesday at the nearest bus stop between 1 pm and 4 pm.

Since men are away at work, women find it difficult to carry the heavy (30.4 kg) cylinders from their homes to the bus stop and return with the refilled cylinder.

While Bharat and HP distributors provide door delivery of the cylinders, why is it not possible for the IOC distributor?

We the residents of Sir M Vishweshwaraiah Layout 3rd, 4th and 5th blocks and surrounding areas request the IOC authorities to instruct Rashmi Indane Distributor to provide door delivery.

Provide subway

Agara Junction, situated on the outer ring road near HSR Layout, is a busy junction at any given time of the day. Pedestrians find it very difficult to cross the road. Most vehicle drivers ignore the signal lights, creating problems for the pedestrians.

Therefore, it is essential for the authorities to provide a subway at Agara Junction so that the pedestrians, especially the senior citizens and schoolgoing children, can cross the road without any problem.

Provide regular water supply

The BWSSB had laid Cauvery water pipelines at Hongasandra two years ago. However, there was supply of water only on the day the connections were provided.

The supply was stopped soon after to 15th main road. There is regular supply of water up to 14th main of the locality. We request the authorities concerned to look into the issue and make arrangements for regular supply of water to the residents of 15th main.

Choked drain

The stormwater drain in front of my house #126, 13th main, BSK 2nd stage, is choked and has become a breeding ground for mosquitoes.

I request the authorities concerned to clean the drain and spray disinfectants immediately to prevent health hazards.

G Ramaswamy,
BSK 2nd Stage

Restrict movement

It has been noticed that sand-laden trucks, cement mixers, tractors have been causing immense traffic jams during peak hours.

From 8.30 am to 11 am, roads are packed with vehicles mostly school buses, BMTC buses and office goers. The woes of the road users are multiplied several folds by these slow-moving heavy vehicles. Since many of these vehicles are in poor condition, a breakdown would cause untold misery to office goers and schoolchildren. To ensure smooth movement of traffic, it is therefore necessary to restrict the movement of heavy vehicles to only between 4 am and 7 am and then again from 10 pm.

Asphalt roads, clear garbage

This is to highlight the condition of the 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th main roads and 10th cross in Vijaya Bank Colony, Bilekahalli (off Bannerghatta Road). These roads were metalled almost two months ago and have not been asphalted yet. Repeated pleas to the local corporator and the road laying contractor are met with the stock response "work is being done". The residents in these areas and those who commute on these roads every day go through a lot of inconvenience.

Secondly, garbage is not cleared regularly in most apartment blocks in this area. One has to keep calling the BBMP ward office every other day to request them to clear it. Even after money is given to those collecting garbage, they do not visit regularly. Garbage heaps cause a lot of hardships for the residents and visitors. On behalf of all the residents, I request BBMP to ensure early completion of road laying work and clear garbage on a regular basis.

Sunil Roberts,
Vijaya Bank Colony, Bilekahalli.

Construct parking lot

The BBMP authorities are requested to construct a parking area over the large drain/naala from Queen’s Road to Ulsoor Lake, so as to reduce traffic jams on this busy stretch, on the lines of the parking area on JC Road. They can recover the investment by collecting nominal parking fee from the users. It will help reduce congestion in Shivajinagar and Ulsoor.

Syed H Amaan,
Shivajinagar.

No water

Residents of II main, 13th cross, KR Road, Sastry Nagar face acute water shortage due to the erratic supply. We are serviced by MNK Park service station and the supply is inadequate for the past three months.

The supply starts by 2 am and stops by 5 am. It is not possible to store enough water during this period. We have brought this to the notice of the concerned BWSSB officials. But, no action has been taken.

Residents, Sastry Nagar

No regular water supply

The residents of 19th Cross, Lakshmipura, Ulsoor are facing water scarity for the past three months. There is no regular supply of drinking water to the area.

We are regularly paying the water bills. In spite of this, we are denied proper supply of water.

The residents in the areas nearby get water supply without any problems.

Complaints with the authorities concerned have gone unheeded. Hope the officials do the needful to solve the problem.

S Shamala,
CMH Road, Ulsoor
