When love and hate collide

What happens when excessive pride and greed seep into family relationships?

When lacklustre walls of fake glory and glitter come crumbling down? Life OK’s new show Amrit Manthan highlights the importance of a strong value system and familial ties.

A royal drama set in Punjab, Amrit Manthan is the story of two sisters, Amrit and Nimrit, who regress from being best friends to the worst of enemies, an animosity that is sparked by a dwindling dynasty, a facade of royal wealth and excessive pride and greed.

Amrit Manthan highlights a very key problem of today’s imbalanced life – that excessive pride and greed can ruin relationships. It displays the gnawing importance given to wealth and social status by society today. The engaging drama is a riveting mixture of values, real-life instances and brings to fore a rustic yet relevant matter.

Amrit Manthan will premiere on February 26 and air every Sunday to Monday at 8.20 pm on Life OK.

Open about nose job

B-Town beauties are usually known to shy away from the spotlight when it comes to rumours about them getting a face-lift or a tummy tuck. But Shruti Hassan, the beautiful daughter of actors Kamal Hassan and Sarika, admits without hesitation that she got a nose job done just before making her debut in Bollywood.

Shruti admitted that she’d got a corrective surgery done in the United States because she was facing breathing problems. She went through a septoplasty because of a common disorder involving a deviated septum, that is a displacement of the nasal septum. Shruti, who originally had an aquiline nose, now has one that perfectly matches her face.

Shruti, one of the contenders of ‘India’s Glam Diva’ on Big CBS Love, is also the lead vocalist of the rock band ‘Extramentals’ and was very apprehensive about undergoing the surgery for the fear of it affecting her voice.

Post surgery, life has become a lot easier, says the South Indian star. “I am able to sleep peacefully and sing without any difficulty. It is a minor procedure and I am greatly relieved,” she explains.

Experts however have said that septoplasty involves the nasal bone cartilage, which hardly changes the appearance of a person’s nose. So did the budding actress have health reasons for getting the nose job or was there something else too?

Watch Shruti Hassan reveal the truth on February 26 at 9 pm on ‘India’s Glam Diva’.
