JOIN USEight bouncers were arrested on Friday night from various parts of the national capital for brutally bashing up three people, including a chief security officer of Zynxxx Club in Hilton Hotel, police said.
The arrested bouncers, all in their late twenties, have been identified as Rocky, the main accused, Anuj, Sandeep, Boby, Manander, Sunder Pal, Devender and Satyawan Awana.
They were arrested in simultaneous raids at various places by eight police teams on Friday night. Five of them were apprehended from a farm house in south Delhi and the rest from Sangam Vihar, Greater Kailash and Noida, said Additional Commissioner of Police (southeast) Ajay Chaudhry.
“They were held for brutally bashing up three persons outside Surya Hotel in New Friends Colony on February 13, which was captured in closed-circuit television of the hotel,” said Chaudhry. The victims were identified as Bhupendra Nagar, Vinod and Sharad.
According to police, Bhupendra and Rocky were known to each other. Both of them were bouncers and had worked together years ago. They started a business of providing bouncers to various clubs, pubs and parties and functions.
Later as their business grew, they separated after a minor feud. They ran their own company and became business rivals. There were differences between them on the business front which became personal after Bhupendra started talking to Rocky’s girlfriend.
Rocky warned Bhupendra not to interfere in his personal life.
On February 12 night, Rocky along with a few bouncers went to see Bhupendra and warn him at Zynxxx Club where after a brief brawl, Rocky and team left. Bhupendra stayed late in the club assuming that the Rocky had left.
Around 5 am on February 13, Bhupendra came out along with his three other friends-cum-bouncers – Vinod, Sharad and Mannu. At the Nehru Place traffic signal, he realised that two cars were following them. They accelerated the car. Rocky and his bouncers fired two rounds in the air near Modi Mill flyover and asked Bhupendra to stop his car. Seeing this, Bhupendra, sped towards Surya Hotel in New Friends Colony to get some help.
As soon as he reached Surya Hotel, where his car was stopped by security, Rocky and his friends broke open the car window and dragged Bhupendra along with Vinod and Sharad.
The trio was brutally bashed with iron rods and hockey sticks. One of the accused allegedly showed a revolver to security officials at the hotel. Mannu saved himself by running towards the police station.
