HC quashes student's expulsion order

Nishant Kumar Singh, a resident of Jharkhand and student of fourth semester, was expelled  on December 11, 2008 following the complaint. Justice B S Patil quashed the order and has directed the College to conduct an inquiry. The student has been directed to appear before the dean for inquiry on September 10.

HAL closure, a new twist
The matter challenging the closure of the HAL airport had a new twist, on Tuesday, with the counsel for the Airport Authority of India Employees’ Union (AAIEU), B C Thiruvengadam, submitting that the Union Ministry for Aviation had accepted the recommendations of the tripartite committee, to reoperationalise the old airports of Bangalore and Hyderabad.

During the hearing of the petition challenging the closure, Thiruvengadam submitted the documents which stated that the Civil Aviation Ministry on July 29, 2009 had written to the Chairman, AAI stating that the report of the tripartite committee has been considered and the recommendations have been accepted.

The tripartite committee  had recommended to reoperationalise airports at Bangalore and Hyderabad.
