Summons to 'tainted' trio

The House Committee probing the porngate episode will take a decision in a day or two on issuing summons to the three former ministers.

The Committee, chaired by Srishilappa Bidarur, on Wednesday discussed various issues to be brought under the purview of the inquiry.

“We will deliberate on the replies given by the three former ministers to the show-cause notice issued by Speaker K G Bopaiah on Thursday, and later take a decision on seeking their appearance before the panel,” Bidarur told reporters.

The committee has been reduced to an all-BJP panel after JD(S) and Congress members boycotted it.

Replying to queries, Bidarur said he had not received the resignation letters of Congress’ H C Mahadevappa, Amaregowda Bayyapura and JD(S) member Dinakar Shetty, who had quit the seven-member panel in support of their parties’ stand that there was no need for an inquiry .

He said the panel would try to submit its report by March 13, the deadline set by the Speaker.
