Inspector shunted out after spat with IAS officer

The Upparpet police inspector Lokeshwara has been transferred to the Central Crime Branch (CCB).

Sources said, the Home Minister, along with senior police officers, held a marathon meeting and decided to shunt out the inspector. The police inspector had a showdown with I S N Prasad, senior IAS officer and Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, a few days ago.

Later, Lokeshwara told the visual media that he wanted to get things clarified with the IAS officer as he was being targeted by him.

The inspector is said to be  close to former chief minister Yeddyurappa.

Youth dies in mishap
A youth riding a two-wheeler was run over by a water tanker in Kumaraswamy Layout on Wednesday. The victim Inayathulla (20) was a painter and a resident of Umarbagh Layout in JP Nagar.

At around 9:30 am, the driver of a tanker coming from behind lost control and the vehicle rammed into Inayathulla’s scooter. The driver is absconding.
