The adventures Mowgli

Enter the marvellous world of Mowgli, the jungle boy, who was lost in the jungles of India and brought up by a wolf pack. Kipling's beloved classics, THE JUNGLE BOOK and THE SECOND JUNGLE BOOK are brought together for today's young readers along in this handy paperback. Mowgli's adventures begin when Father Wolf rescues him from the dangerous tiger, Shere Khan. The human baby grows up along with the wolf cubs, making friends with Bagheera the Panther and Baloo the bear.

He learns the Law of the Jungle, which teaches him to keep his temper, for life and food depend on it. Stalked by his great and dangerous enemy Shere Khan, Mowgli is kidnapped by wicked monkeys. The wolf pack exiles him and he is disowned by humans. He finally defeats Shere Khan and returns to the forests he loves. As he grows older, he is also drawn to people and he tries to return to live with his own human kind in a village. Every page of this immortal classic is packed with action and excitement, and some deep insights.
There are many amusing moments as well. When Mowgli tries to mix with humans, he is angry when the children make fun of him. He thinks of them as "little naked cubs," and feels it is unsportsmanlike to pick them up and break them in two.  Ruskin Bond's charming introduction and a fact file, India pages and other interesting snippets of information make this a wonderful read for everyone.
