YSR's cremation at his native place


Anticipating huge attendance of VIPs and public during the cremation of former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, the Centre will mobilise 1600 personnel of Central Paramilitary Force to assist state police in security arrangements.

About 600 personnel were airlifted on Thursday while 400 were sent on Wednesday. About 400 personnel of Rapid Action Force and 200 personnel of Central Industrial Security Force are already stationed in Hyderabad, a Home Ministry spokesperson said.

About 200 personnel will be deployed at the cremation site to help the state police manage law and order while the remaining will be stationed in Hyderabad to man the area around the L B Shastri stadium where Reddy's body will be kept for the general public to pay their last respects before it would be taken to his native village for final rites.
