'Don't run KSRTC buses without licenses'

He was speaking at a meeting of KSRTC officials and private bus owners here on Wednesday. He appealed to adjust the timings between KSRTC and private buses so that no untoward incidents take place in Gonikoppal bus stand. The buses should ply keeping in the interest of the public.

He urged the buses to ply on time so that the school children reach the classes on time.
Superintendent of Police Manjunath Annigeri said KSRTC buses will be checked like private buses. If the buses fail to produce licenses, then criminal cases will be filed against such buses.

SP urged the KSRTC officials and private bus owners to work together till a separate bus stand is constructed in Gonikoppal. There is a need to maintain law and order in Gonikoppal. No one should run the bus without license.

KSRTC divisional officer (traffic) Mahadevaiah said “more facilities must be provided to stop KSRTC buses in Gonikoppal bus stand. KSRTC buses have licenses. Gonikoppal bus stand has the facilities to stop four KSRTC buses. Two more buses should be allowed to stop.”

Private bus owners K P Bopanna, Mallanda Prakash spoke on the problems at Gonikoppal bus stand. Virajpet Tahsildar Sathish Kumar and others were present.
