Law school admission test

Pearson VUE, the global leader in computer–based testing for academic, professional and licensure examinations, has announced the opening of registrations for the Law School Admission Test (LSAT), India 2012. The test will be conducted on May 5, 2012 in major cities across the country.

LSAT—India is a special version of the LSAT® which is conducted globally by the Law School Admission Council (LSAC). The test is specifically designed by the LSAC for admissions to Indian law colleges. It is a standardised test that assesses critical-thinking skills, logical-reasoning, problem-solving skills and traits that are needed for a successful career in law. Many of the country’s leading law colleges, such as Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur and Jindal Global Law School, Sonipat, use LSAT—India scores as part of the admissions criteria for their law courses.

Summer programmes

Life skills training for children

The School of Success offers classes for children between 3-15 years. The main focus is on life skills, value education and leadership qualities. The topic for the current module being ‘Namaskara Bengaluru’ where participating children will learn about the rich, cultural heritage and some interesting aspects of Bangalore.

The methods that are used are planned to constantly engage and excite children. Each session is a combination of specific group activities, individual tasks, sing-along, story-telling, videos, and crafts. Other interesting mediums used are puppetry, theater, photography, specialist guest talks and field trips.

The School of Success programmes not only aim at individual success, but also endeavour to create a sense of belonging and respect for family, environment, culture and country.

Chocolate making course at IBCA

The Institute of Baking and Cake Art is conducting a special programme on gateaux, torte, pastry and wedge for 5 days  from March 12, 2012. The programme will highlight the different techniques and processes and will cover delicacies such as cappuccino deluxe gateaux, raspberry and mango charlotte, fresh fruit pastry filling, banana blaze pastry, mandarin cheesecake, banoffee pie and chocolate mousse torte.

The Institute is also conducting a one-day course on chocolate making on March 17, 2012. The course would cover the basics of chocolate making, tempering of chocolate — white and dark, a range of techniques, orange and lemon flavoured chocolate, rock chocolate – peanuts and butterscotch, soft centre chocolates - cream and coffee flavoured, liqueur chocolates, truffle and chocolate caramel crea.
