Festive bonanza

Have a grand Holi with Hungama TV as it presents an array of entertaining shows on March 8.

Catch Shinchan and Treasures of the Buri Buri Kingdom followed by Do Dooni Chaar starring yesteryear’s hit couple Neetu Singh and Rishi Kapoor.

Shinchan and Treasures of the Buri Buri Kingdom airs at 11 am. In this movie, Shinchan is in for an exciting adventure when his family wins a prize holiday to Buri Buri, a southern island.

However, there is a twist in the story as this entire affair is masterminded by the evil ‘White Snake Gang’.

There on begin Shinchan’s adventures which include getting kidnapped, meeting his look-alike — Prince Sunnokeshi — and finally facing the Buri Buri Monster. The celebrations continue with the premiere of Do Dooni Chaar at 1 pm, where Bollywood’s classic couple Neetu Singh and Rishi Kapoor weave magic on the screen.

This is a heart-warming comedy about the Duggal family who decide to follow their dream and upgrade from a scooter to a car.

They embark on a roller-coaster ride filled with chaos and laughter and ultimately, learn to celebrate the true meaning of family.

Turbulent currents

HBO presents ‘Open Water’ on March 8 at 9 pm. The movie stars Blanchard Ryan, Daniel Travis and Saul Stein.

In search of a much-needed break, Susan and Daniel go on a vacation to a tropical island.

While scuba diving miles off the coast, the tour guide miscounts, leaving them abandoned in the middle of the ocean.

As the hours pass, the two realise that they are not alone as a shark’s fin breaks the water surface.

Over the next 24 hours, the couple must fight to stay afloat and alive, surrounded by miles of ocean.

Women on top

Wordsworth rightly said, “Every woman is nobly planned, to warn, to comfort and command.” This Women’s Day, Big CBS Love has a treat for every woman as it presents an afternoon band encompassing special series on ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’, ‘Sex and the City’, ‘America’s Next Top Model’ and ‘Excused’.

Kick-starting on March 8 and going right up to March 11, the channel will air interesting stories on the five leading ladies of love — Oprah Winfrey, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Tyra Banks and Iliza Shlesinger. Watch little known facts, trivia and intimate details about their personal lives throughout the day. All these incredible women get together to celebrate the spirit of womanhood. Catch the special afternoon band from 12 noon to 3 pm, March 8 onwards.

Starry night

UTV Stars presents ‘Cosmopolitan Fun, Fearless Awards 2012’ on March 10 at 8 pm. The red carpet saw some of the biggest celebrities of B-Town and acclaimed fashionistas like Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Siddhartha Mallya, Prateik Babbar, Parineeti Chopra, Masaba Gupta, Daboo Ratnani, Sameera Reddy, Malaika Arora Khan and others.

But the highlight of the evening was the impromptu gig by none other than the ‘Baadshah of Bollywood’, Shah Rukh Khan. He got every one in the crowd swooning as he got up, close and personal with them. Along with Shahid Kapoor, he was one of the prominent winners of the evening. 

Immersed in a pool of colours

Life OK celebrates the festival of colours with dance, music and lots of drama. Watch a special Holi event, set in a village backdrop, on the channel on March 8. Karan Grover and Aditi Gupta open the show with a spectacular performance to the season’s most popular track, Ooh La La.

Kailash Kher also enthrals viewers with his performance.

TV’s favourite soap stars Ali Asgar and Kavita Kaushik host the event that also has lots of drama in the form of a family act and a saas-bahu act. And of course, no Holi is
complete without a performance to the evergreen Holi song, Rang Barse.

Actors Karanvir Bohra, Sudeep Sahir and Shraddha Arya dance to this number. Also championing a safe Holi initiative, Mouni Roy and Sayantani Ghosh play Holi in the traditional way — with flowers.

 They also present a mythological dance performance to the song Mann Kyun Behka.
Ali Zafar and Aditi Rao Hydari also perform to numbers from their movie, ‘London Paris New York’.
