‘Melange 2012’

'Melange 2012', the biannual techno-cultural festival of Acharya Institute of Management Studies will be held at the college campus on March 9 and March 10. While the first day of the festival will be reserved for the technical events, the second day will include a cultural programme. The technical events are open to students from the BBM, BCom, BCA and BHM departments. The competitions include ‘Best Manager’, ‘IT Manaher’, ‘Best Auditor’ and many more such events. Over twenty colleges are expected to participate in this.

The cultural events, which are to be held on the second day, are open to all departments. The competitions are varied, and include sections like ‘Group Dance’ and ‘Ad Mads’. In the ‘Solo Dance’, participants have to shake a leg to choreographed music, after which four dancers will be selected for a dance off.

‘Acharya Habba’

‘Acharya Habba’, the month-long festival held at the Acharya Institutes, kicked off recently. The festival will include a month of off-stage programmes, and three days of on-stage programmes, which will take place on March 15, 16 and 17.

With a participation of around 9,000 students, the festival was kicked off with a flash mob. The various events which are going to be a part of the fest include: ‘Fun Speak’, ‘Mad Ads’, ‘Street Play’, ‘Acharya’s Got Talent’, ‘Rangoli’, ‘Maths Intellect’, ‘Maths Quiz’, ‘Rock Show’, ‘Web Designing’, ‘On Spot Programming’ and ‘Stress Interview’. Other events, such as ‘Vegetable Carving’, ‘Tug of War’, ‘Fireless Cooking’, ‘Face Painting’, ‘Photography’, ‘Slow Bike Race’ and ‘Kite Flying’ will also be held. Solo and group singing and dancing competitions are on the agenda, and a Mr and Ms Habba will be selected as part of the fest. A business quiz called ‘Limos’ and an HR event called ‘Styx’ are also being organised.
