The State government on Monday appointed film actor Tara the chairperson of the Karnataka Film Academy, and noted artist Chi Su Krishna Shetty the chairperson of the Lalithakala Academy.
The Karnataka Film Academy’s present chairperson T S Nagabharana’s term ends this month.
Lalithakala Academy’s former chairperson G S Khande Rao’s term ended last October.
Tara joined the BJP during the last Lok Sabha elections.
