Reacting to the allegations of corruption against her government, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit launched a scathing attack on Bhartiya Janata Party on Monday.

She charged BJP’s state president Vijender Gupta with corruption, alleging bungling at his NGO ‘Sampoorna’.

The chief minister was addressing a press conference along with her cabinet colleagues.

“Every day BJP says that there is corruption but what we don’t get to see is any proof. I ask them to show us proof and I guarantee an appropriate action against the accused person. I suggest that one who lives in a glass house should not throw stones at others,” said Dikshit.

She alleged that Gupta had given a false affidavit and also used money from Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) for his own NGO Sampoorna.

“If you people investigate, you will find that the MCD’s money has been diverted into this NGO,” said Dikshit.

She also said his NGO has also utilised money from social welfare department.

In the backdrop of BJP’s rath yatra which was taken out against the government, the chief minister questioned the efforts made by the opposition party for the people.

“Why don’t they tell people  what they have done for them. Since they have done nothing, what can they tell?” she said.

Targeting the BJP for breaching poll code of conduct by passing hundreds of proposals in the MCD two days ago, Dikshit claimed several scams flourished under its own five year old regime.

“Thousands of ghost employees took salary from MCD coffers but no one knows who enjoyed this money. They had promised to build 100 parking lots in five years, but only two could be built. The roads are in bad condition everywhere,” she added.

Denies allegation

Meanwhile, Gupta rubbished the allegations made by the CM as false and baseless.

“The chief minister has become furious because of the popularity and public support my Jana Sangharsh Yatra gained. There is no substance in these allegations,” said Gupta.

Dikshit should have resigned after the Shunglu committee exposed corruption in Commonwealth Games, if she had any morality, he added.
