Ex-MLA leaves Congress, joins JD(S)

Former MLA and District Congress president V Ashwattha Narayana Reddy, along with his supporters, joined the JD(S) on Saturday in Bangalore.

Ashwattha Narayana had expressed disappointment about being cornered by the Congress party, even after implementing various development works.

After joining JD(S) in the presence of former PM, Deve Gowda at the party office in Bangalore, he promised to support any candidate from the party, contesting for coming legislative assembly elections.

“I will give answer to Congress leaders in the coming elections. In coming days, more supporters and leaders will join JD(S),” he said.

Speaking on the occasion, former MLA N Jyothi Reddy said: “JD(S) should be strengthened from grassroot level and all should strive for victory of the party candidate.”

Venugopal Reddy, advocate Lakshminarayan, Anand, environmentalist Chowdappa, K Arekallahalli Venu and others also joined JD(S).

Taluk JD(S) president Shivaramareddy and others were present.
