Kunal Khemu, who will be seen playing the lead role in Mahesh Bhatt’s ‘Blood Money’, says his character in the film is simple and anyone can relate to it.

The 28-year-old actor said that his character has the same dreams like every other man. Directed by Vishal Mahadkar, the film will hit screens on March 30. “Anyone who wants to make his life better would be able to relate to the emotions of this guy. There are many dreams of the lead character that any normal middle-class person would be able to relate to,” said Kunal. The thriller revolves around a young man who finishes his MBA and earns an overseas job for himself. As soon as the character steps into a foreign land, he is troubled by unforeseen challenges.

“We have tried to make sure that the protagonist remains a normal guy from start till the end of the story. In films, we normally see that a character starts off as a simpleton and becomes a hero in the end,” Kunal added. He is sharing the screen space with actress Amrita Puri of Aisha fame. “I really enjoyed working with Amrita. She is quite talented and though she comes from a very different background, instead of being from a so-called filmi family, she is following her passion as an actress,” he said.

Kunal, who has been away from the limelight for quite some time now, said he was bothered about the way his career was shaping up. “Sometimes it did bother me that I was not getting good scripts even though my last few films have been successful. Such thoughts do bring you down. I am quite an introvert and my friends keep telling me that I should be seen more often at events and all. However, I have always believed that it is my work that should do the talking rather than my appearances,” he said.

But, Kunal has managed to shrug off all such negative thoughts and got back into the scheme of things with the Bhatts after Kalyug.

“I have always done the kind of work that I really like doing. Otherwise I would have already signed 20 movies in the last few years. I have been instead positive and moved on to select the best which is coming my way,” he said.
