Man abducted over love affair rescued

Alert police on Monday, solved a kidnapping case within an hour of lodging a complaint, reports DHNS from Mangalore.

Tilak Raj, loan recovery officer in a private bank in Mallikatta was thrashed and taken away from the bank by three men in an autorickshaw on Monday morning at around 10.30 am.

Soon after realising that it was a kidnapping incident, the officer’s colleagues complained to the police.

The police team led by CCB Inspector Venkatesh Prasanna began investigation and within 45 minutes of the incident, they traced the victim and the kidnappers in an anganwadi at Padil.

Along with the kidnappers a girl and an auto driver were also found.

Love angle

However, the inquiry revealed that the kidnap case was related to a love affair. Tilak Raj was in love with a girl over the last six years but had turned down her request for marriage. Raged over the rejection, the brothers of the girl hatched the plan to kidnap Tilak.

Kidnapping case has been booked against the three men identified as Praveen, Uday Kumar and Deepak, brothers of the girls and were produced before the Magistrate on Monday evening, informed the police sources.

City Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh himself took the lead and guided the police.

The Commissioner also visited the spot where the victim was taken.
