Recreating the magic of Sri...

Bollywood heart-throb John Abraham and his leading lady Prachi Desai will be seen doing an item number in their upcoming film I Me Aur Main. A remixed version of Sridevi’s Na Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai is the song that they will be dancing to.

“Na Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai was an item number at that time. A duet version will be shot for I Me Aur Main as well,” said Bhushan Kumar, the head-honcho of T-Series. “The song will be picturised on John and Prachi Desai. We are also trying to rope in Sunidhi Chauhan to sing the female version,” he added.

Na Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai was a song from the film Chaalbaaz (1989). A rain song picturised on Sunny Deol and Sridevi, both the song and the movie went on to become  big hits.

Directed by Kapil Sharma, I Me Aur Main also features Chitrangada Singh and Zarina Wahab. It is being produced by Shrishti Behl Arya and Goldie Behl. T-Series has bagged the music rights for the project and it was Bhushan’s idea to revive the song. He said, “This song is one of my personal favourites. I am sure it will be a chartbuster.”

Saved by their better halves

The men of the film industry would still be fighting their ego wars had it not been for their more pragmatic wives and girlfriends.

A strange thing happened last week. Gauri Khan attended a party thrown by Sohail Khan, where she mingled freely with the whole Khan khandaan, including her husband’s archrival Salman. But that wasn’t all.

In London, Shah Rukh himself was shooting with Salman’s special someone, Katrina Kaif.

Considering the two Khans of the industry can barely stand each other, how exactly did they go about with each other’s ‘better halves’?

‘Being a vamp is super fun’

Canadian model Mia Uyeda, who will be seen in the forthcoming movie ‘Blood Money’, says her family is not upset after seeing the leaked intimate video from the film. “I was surprised because I had no idea about it. My dad called me from Canada after watching the leaked video. Since he works with Indian people in Canada, he gets all the news over there. He called me and said what the leak scene is all about,” said Mia. “He was not upset at all. I spoke to my grandmother. She is 82 and was an actress in Canada. I told her about my role and she said as long as you feel comfortable with it, it is fine. My father is proud of me that I am doing what I always wanted to do. They are not upset,” she added.

The actress revealed that director Vishal Mahadkar had briefed her about the scenes and that she was mentally prepared for them. “When I met Vishal, he briefed me about the scenes and told me ‘these are your scenes’. So I knew about the role and it was a part of the character. I said I was fine with it and we are actors — it’s our job to look convincing. You do it half way, it will look fake. So I decided to jump into it and do it. But I was a little bit nervous,” she said.

Scheduled to release on March 30, ‘Blood Money’ features Kunal and Amrita Puri in the lead roles while Mia plays a vamp. And she said she enjoyed being bad on screen. “I play a character called Roza who is a sexy kind of a girl. I am playing a vamp. She is part of the main plot. I like being called a vamp. It’s not like my personality at all. Being a vamp is super fun but I would like to try various roles because I have studied acting,” the 27-year-old said. “I would like to explore different roles other than playing a vamp but if people want me to play a vamp, I am more than happy to do that,” she added.
