PCP Terra to launch Motor Home Car in June

Paracoat Products Limited (PCP), the leading manufacturer in Total NVH reduction components for use in the automotive industry, will launch Motor Home Car in June 2012.

With an initial investment of Rs 10 crore, Paracoat Products Limited has launched a company PCP Terra in association with Van Tech of Japan and Siam Motorhome Co of Thailand. The interior materials are imported from EU considering the automotive requirements, and the non-Formalin decoration Wood is imported from New Zealand. It has Double Acrylic window with vacuum system and 3 style nets (clear opaque and mosquito net).

Talking to Deccan Herald, Paracoat Products Limited Director Business Development Rajesh Poddar said: “The PCP Terra is a Motor Home cum Office, based on a standard pick-up vehicle, the base vehicle being pickup small trucks like Mahindra Genio or the Tata Xenon. It is installed with frame made of fibreglass (FRP) with resistance to road worthy conditions.”

“PCP has been providing the best in terms of quality and innovation for some decades now. So bringing in PCP Terra was not a drastic shift but futuristic as we had the right associations in terms of design, manufacturing, OEMs, marketing, etc,” Poddar said.
The approx business on NVH/Interior trim (Components concerned to PCP) is typically US$ 80-120 per car.

PCP Terra is suitable for family or a group journey of seven people (including the driver). It has luxurious interior design, and the living/ meeting area can be adjusted to a bed room with capacity of five people. It is fitted with all required facilities like air conditioner, heater, refrigerator, microwave, wash-room, shower, shelves, drawers for kitchen utensils, stereo and multimedia system (TV, Radio, DVD player, mp3 player). It has a display to monitor the level of fresh water and wastewater as well. It has a reverse camera to assist the driver to drive reverse with a monitor on the front console.

The price for PCP Terra will be between Rs 31 lakh to Rs 37 lakh, depending on the facilities and size and final price to be announced at the time of launch during June 2012.
Target consumers would be defence personnel, infrastructure companies, corporate houses, travel houses, tourism companies, political parties, etc. PCP Terra will be marketed directly through the company initially, starting the first showroom in NCR followed by Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. The company is also working on a concept of coming up with Caravan Parks by 2014.

The auto industry has always been subject to different rates of customs and excise duty on its inputs and final product. The company expects that the much awaited GST would rationalise the current duty structure.
