Special Assembly session

The Delhi Assembly will meet for a special session on Wednesday, during which chief minister Sheila Dikshit will present a vote-on-account to seek allocation of funds for the first few months of the next fiscal year.

The full budget cannot be presented due to the upcoming MCD polls and implementation of the model code of conduct.

“The Assembly has been convened for a day to pass a vote-on-account regarding expenses. This will ensure smooth functioning of the government till the full budget is presented,” said a state government official.

The official said the budget session of the Assembly will be convened after the MCD polls end.
