Rabindra tribute

Dance lovers have a treat in store with Rabindra Nrityanjali- National Festival of New Choreography being organised at India Habitat Centre. The performance will include Ananda Basanta Samagame, a contemporary choreography by Manjish, based on Tagore’s songs and poems celebrating the advent of spring. This will be followed by Chidabhas choreography in Bharatanatyam by Jodhpur Sanskriti Kendra, depicting the manifestation of supreme consciousness based on Tagore’s philosophy. The event organised in collaboration with Impresario India is scheduled for March 26 at 7 pm.

Festivity trails

Chitrangada Kuchipudi choreography by Amrita Lahiri and troupe followed by Bhanu Bhane, a Jaya Deva Hare choreography in Manipuri, based on Bhanu Singher Padabali, by Sruti Performing Troupe. Choreography will take place at IHC as part of Rabindra Nrityanjali- National Festival of New Choreography on March 27 from 7 pm onwards.

Veteran danseus

Shovana Narayan the Padmashri awardee will perform Kathak, ‘The Spring Of Eternal Hope’ on March 29 at Epicentre, Gurgaon from 7.30pm onwards. Shovana is a Kathak maestro and an outstanding dancer, who is known to have created a new and innovative style enriched with a deeper and wider canvas of expression and dimensions. 

Tribute finale

Mahamanober Shagoro Tire (Indian Pilgrimage) choreography in Odissi will be performed by Kalajyoti. This performance followed by an Abhisaar based on Tagore’s poem, a Kathak ballet and a folk dance idiom by Nupur Jhankar will conclude the three day ‘Rabindra Nrityanjali- National Festival of New Choreography’ at India Habitat Centre on March 28. The event will begin at 7 pm.
