Crushed by DTC bus, woman loses both legs

A 60-year-old woman lost both her legs after a DTC bus hit her while she was crossing a road near Uttam Nagar metro station on Thursday.

Neera Devi, was out for a morning walk, when the accident took place at around 7.15 am.

The bus however raced away from the spot.

“The injured was taken to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital in Hari Nagar, where doctors amputated both her legs,” another police official added.

A case has been registered against an unknown DTC bus at Uttam Nagar police station.

Embassy car accident

Three people were injured when a car belonging to Brunei embassy collided with another car in Vasant Vihar area of south Delhi on Thursday afternoon, police said.
The incident took place at 3 pm when an official of the embassy was on his way to Indira Gandhi International Airport in a Toyota Land Cruiser.

 “The embassy car was passing through Poorvi Marg when it collided with a Maruti Alto,” a police official said.

The driver of the Land Cruiser, Dinesh Saini, and a woman travelling in the Alto, were injured in the accident. Police took them to a nearby hospital for treatment.
All of them were stable after preliminary treatment.

A case has been registered in this regard at Vasant Vihar police station and investigation taken up.
