JOIN USThe residents of the Khajikalhalli and surrounding villages in the taluk, under the banner of Kannada Sene submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Manoj Kumar Meena, to solve the drinking water crisis faced by the villages.
The villages, which come under the Narasapura Gram Panchayat in the taluk, are facing acute water shortage for the past one month. Most of the borewells in the region have gone dry. The water is badly affecting both the residents and livestock.
The residents said that though many complaints had been lodged to gram and taluk panchayats, no steps were taken to alleviate the problem. They threatened to hold massive protests if the authorities concerned failed to solve the crisis.
