Show me the money, honey!

Choosy : Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri Dixit apparently has been quoting one to three crore for her endorsement deals and four to five crore for her films. Looks like the senior actress is all set to compete with the current A-listers.

Says a source, “This is the kind of money leading ladies like Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and even Vidya Balan are charging. So Madhuri clearly wants to let people know that she is no less than any of them and signing her on will be expensive.”

This probably might be one of the reasons why she refused plum projects like Anil Kapoor’s remake of ‘Freaky Friday’ and the remake of Satte Pe Satta that ultimately went to Karisma Kapoor.

Her last solo project, Aaja Nachle, tanked at the box office.

She is, however, looking at women-oriented roles and for many producers, a film like that is a huge monetary risk.

So for now, the only people who seem to be able to afford her are beauty and food brands as she has signed on several endorsement deals over the past few months.

There are rumours that she might play the lead in Vishal Bharadwaj’s Dedh Ishqiya.
However, that news remains unconfirmed.

Shedding the glamour

The ravishing Kangana Ranaut is all set to look simple for Sanjay Gupta’s ‘Shootout At Wadala’. According to sources, Kangana’s role is inspired by the actors of the 1970s. She will be seen with minimal make-up to suit her character.

Kangana, who is known as the fashion icon of Bollywood, has no qualms about going de-glam for the role and is quite excited about the new look. Let’s wait and watch how mesmerising the new Kangana is!

Back to scorch the screen

Actress Kate Winslet and director James Cameron walked the red carpet in London for the premiere of the 3D version of the Fox Star Studios ‘Titanic’ — 15 years after the original film released. Kate Winslet arrived at the world premiere of ‘Titanic 3D’ at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

The Oscar-winning actress admitted that she felt “terrible” to see herself nude in 3D. The actress said she “wouldn’t look” when intimate scenes between her character and Leonardo DiCaprio were played.

Kate, who was wearing a glistening Jenny Packham gown, walked the red carpet with co-star Billy Zane and director James Cameron at the Royal Albert Hall in Kensington, West London. ‘Titanic 3D’ comes 15 years after the original film was a box office success, winning 11 Oscars.

Cameron came to London fresh from the success of his latest venture. He used a specially designed submarine, called Deepsea Challenger, to dive nearly seven miles below the surface of the Pacific. He reached the ocean’s deepest point on earth a place where only two men had gone before.

The descent took him to the Mariana Trench, about 200 miles south west of the Pacific island of Guam. ‘Titanic 3D’ releases in India on April 5.

‘I am an entertainer’

Actor Prateik, who has not given any big hit so far, says he is an entertainer and has an urge to entertain people.

“That’s what we are here for — we are all entertainers, that’s our job. I do believe I am an entertainer.

I don’t know how entertaining I am but there is an urge to entertain, definitely,” the 25-year-old told reporters.

Prateik, whose last film Ek Deewana Tha failed to garner success at the box office, is currently shooting for Issaq.

Confident about project

Producer Goldie Behl is confident that Sridevi’s iconic song Na Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai, which is being reprised in his forthcoming film I, Me Aur Main, will be one of the biggest entertainers of the year.

“It’s being recorded and my director is working on it. We are really looking forward to it. It will be one of the most entertaining songs of the year, I am sure,” Goldie told reporters.

The song will feature John Abraham and Prachi Desai. Directed by debutant Kapil Sharma, I, Me Aur Main also stars Chitrangada Singh and is slated for July release.
