"We have written a letter to the state Government," NCW Chairperson Girija Vyas said, adding the commission has asked for the report in 24 hours. "I have asked some NGOs to rush there and find out the reality. Women, I believe are also worried as even the police is not helping," she said.
Terming the incident as 'awful', Vyas said "it was unbelievable that it (such incidents) still happens in this country and that too in UP where the Chief Minister is a woman. "We have taken cognizance and we are sending a team to find out the details," she said. Blaming the state Government in the matter, the NCW Chairperson said, "It is the state which looks after the district level administration".
