For the first time in the recent past, the city corporation has planned to aid homeless persons with an exclusive housing policy ‘Swanta Soorina Ooru Mysooru’ (city of own roof).
According to a survey, there are 34,000 such shelterless people in the city and they will be provided with houses.
The programme will be implemented in consultation with the district administration.
