2 held for robbing former DIG's wife

They entered house as workers


 The incident occurred at Poornaprajna Layout on Uttarahalli main road. The two accused were later nabbed by the Subramanyapura police.
According to the police, the accused gained entry into the house of Mallikarjun, the retired DIG, posing themselves as KPTCL workers. They told Mallikarjun’s wife Shobha (56) that there was some leakage outside her house and the  KPTCL officers had sent them to repair the same. She let them inside.

Once inside, they are alleged to have sprayed some power on her face following which she fainted. They tied her up, removed her ornaments worth Rs 85,000 and fled. Mallikarjun was not at home when the incident took place. The accused, aged around 25, were conversing in Kannada, added the police. The police quickly acted and arrested the duo in the night. However the police refused to disclose names and other details of the duo.
