Firms to be roped in to conduct campus interviews


Hitherto companies concentrated on private colleges to choose their manpower and those studying in government colleges were denied the opportunities, Higher Education Minister Aravind Limbavali said.

To make education inclusive and proactive, the government was launching many programmes for students, which includes “aptamitra”, to ensure collaboration between private colleges and government to mutally exchange expertise, infrastructure and other resources to provide quality education to all students, he said.

“Sahayog”, a public-private partnership to help students equip themselves with soft skills and job skills and “Samparka”, a unique initiative to enhance computer literacy and cyber connectivity among government college students will also be launched, he said.

All these programmes will be launched by Chief Minister B S Yeddyruappa on Tuesday, he said. The government has also decided to provide free internet facility to 100 colleges, he said. “Angla” programme will be initiated to help rural students learn communicative English, he added.
