KSE jibes at BSY's demand for post

BJP State President K S Eshwarappa, in a veiled attack on former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, on Friday said thousands of party workers have toiled for the party for decades without anticipating any position or post.

“Demanding any post or position leads to confusion in the  party,” he said, speaking at the Foundation Day celebrations at the BJP head office in the City.

Eshwarappa, without specifying names, decried the entry of ‘caste politics’ into the party. However, it was apparent that the party chief was referring to Yeddyurappa who is using the ‘Lingayat card’ to further his ambition of regaining the seat of power.

He admitted that the image of the party had taken a beating due to the recent political developments, but told the party workers not to lose heart as the ideology of the party would stand the test of time.

Later, in a video conferencing with the party national president, Nitin Gadkari, Eshwarappa expressed confidence that the BJP would win 150 seats in the next Assembly elections.
