Lalu, Sharad foster new ties in Haryana

Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and National Democratic Alliance convener Sharad Yadav have ventured out of Bihar to find a groom for their daughters. Both Lalu and Yadav will marry their daughters in politically connected families of Haryana.

Lalu’s daughter Anuskha is set to marry Chiranjeev Rao, president of the Haryana State Youth Congress and son of Power minister Captain Ajay Singh Yadav on April 24 in New Delhi, while Sharad Yadav’s daughter Suhasini on Sunday got engaged to the brother-in-law of Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) leader from Haryana Abhimanyu Yadav at a ceremony in the national capital attended by top leaders of the NDA.

They are likely to get married in November this year. The groom, Raj Kamal, is the son of JDU’s state president Kamalveer.

Ajay Yadav’s hometown Rewari is being decked up to welcome guests from Bihar and Delhi. Former Bihar minister Hukumdeo Narayan Singh Yadav too has strong family links in Rewari as his son was married here.

Sharad Yadav’s wife also has family ties in Haryana, said sources.

Lalu Prasad will be at Rewari on April 18 to participate in the “lagan” ceremony ahead of the marriage.Sources close to the family said about 20,000 guests, mostly from Haryana, are likely to attend a lavish dinner being hosted by Capt Yadav on April 18 in Rewari.

In February, Lalu married his fourth daughter Ragini to the son of a Samajwadi Party leader. The former Bihar chief minister has nine children. His sons, Tej Pratap, undergoing a flying course and Tejaswi, an IPL cricketer, are both unmarried.

Lalu’s seventh and youngest daughter Raj Lakshmi is pursuing her studies.
