The Bangalore District Football Association’s Super and ‘A’ Division league will resume at the Bangalore Football Stadium next month.

“We are hoping to start the local league matches on May 10,” said Karnataka State Football Association president A R Khaleel. “We will hundred percent try to prevent any untoward incidents in future.”

Khaleel was referring to the on-field death of D Venkatesh on March 21. “We have bought an ambulance and also purchased a Powerheart Automated External Defibrillator. We will provide all life saving facilities necessary in case of emergency,” pointed out Khaleel.

PAED is a fully equipped automated electronic device that administers an electric shock of pre-set voltage to the heart through the chest wall in an attempt to restore the normal rhythm of the heart during venticular fibrillation.

Khaleel said KSFA has appointed Dr Syed Sohail Hasan, a full-time physician, to look after the footballers’ needs.  Besides, the State body has also signed a permanent agreement with Hosmat for the treatment of players in case of emergency.

KSFA and BDFA jointly gave away Rs five lakh to Venkatesh’s family. “KSFA gave Rs four lakhs and BDFA Rs one lakh,” Khaleel said.
