Ramayana trail in Lanka

Speaking at a B2B session here on Tuesday, Prabuddh Banerjee, country-head (India), Sri Lanka Tourism said, “With 2011 being planned as ‘Visit Lanka Year’, the country now offers an opportunity for Indians looking at a Ramayana Trail. There are more than 50 ancient sites dating back to Ramayana period in Sri Lanka.

The sites identified include the vast lush greens plains, part of Ravana’s kingdom in ancient Lankapura that were set ablaze by Hanuman and temples constructed for Sita.
Banerjee said, incentives will be announced shortly for the Indian tourists.
