The villagers have flayed the authorities for the delay in completion of the work. The bridge at Bennekudru providing connectivity to Barkur via Sasthana and Moodahadu is being built at an estimated cost of Rs 80 lakh.

The bridge at Bavalikudru is being built at an estimated cost of Rs 33 lakh. Though the work was started a year ago, it has not been completed so far.

The authorities have completed 90 per cent of the work on Bennekudru bridge. In Bavalikudru, only pillars have been constructed. Alleging that fund was not released by the government, the contractor has stopped the work a year ago. The two bridges must have been completed before the monsoon.
